Insurance Claims

The honest way to handle a roof claim.

A storm took out your roof. Now you're standing in your kitchen wondering if you should call the insurance company, the roofer, or both. Short answer: get the roof inspected first so you know what's actually wrong, then file a claim with real documentation in hand.

There's a certain kind of out-of-state storm-chasing roofer who knocks on your door after a hailstorm and promises they'll "handle everything" with insurance. That's the same crew that disappears the day after the check clears. We don't do that. We're not a public adjuster, we're a roofing company — we just do the part that helps the most.

What we actually do for your claim

  • Free pre-claim inspection. So you know if there's damage worth filing on before you make the call.
  • Photo and written documentation. Dated, organized, the kind an adjuster respects.
  • We meet your adjuster on the roof. No surprises, no missed items.
  • We build our scope to match the approved claim. If the insurance approves it, we do it. If they don't, we don't add it and quietly bill you for it later.
  • Direct billing. You pay your deductible, we bill the carrier for the rest.

What we won't do

  • Waive or "eat" your deductible. That's fraud.
  • Tell you to file a claim when there's no real damage.
  • Negotiate your claim for you — that's between you and your carrier.

Common questions

Do you run my insurance claim for me?+

No, and you should be careful of any roofer who says they will. The claim is between you and your carrier. What we do is make it easy: clear documentation, clear photos, and we meet your adjuster on the roof.

What does the claim process actually look like?+

1) We inspect and document. 2) You call your insurance and open a claim. 3) Their adjuster comes out — we meet them on the roof. 4) They approve a scope and an amount. 5) We do the work and bill against the approved scope. You pay your deductible, they pay the rest.

What if my claim gets denied?+

Happens. Sometimes the damage isn't from a covered event, sometimes the adjuster misses something. You can request a re-inspection. If the damage is real, we'll be there for round two with the photos.

Can you waive my deductible?+

No, and neither can any honest roofer. Waiving a deductible is insurance fraud in Montana. If a contractor offers, walk away.
