Montana hail season runs roughly June through August, and the storms that roll through Bozeman, Belgrade, and Manhattan don't always make the news. If your neighbors are getting roofs replaced, your roof probably got hit too. We'll check it for free and put it all in writing.
What we look for
- Granule loss in circular patterns (the giveaway sign of hail)
- Bruised or fractured shingles that haven't started leaking yet
- Damaged flashing, vents, and skylights
- Dents in soft metals like gutters and downspouts (these date the storm for your adjuster)
- Wind damage along the eaves and ridge
What you get
An emailed photo report with the date of the inspection, the date of the storm if we can tie it to one, photos of every spot we found, and a one-page summary an adjuster can read in two minutes. No charge.
We'll meet your adjuster
Once you file the claim, your insurance will send out their own adjuster. We'll be on the roof with them. It's not adversarial — most adjusters do a fair job — but having someone up there who looks at roofs every day makes sure nothing gets overlooked.
Common questions
Do I have hail damage if I can't see it from the ground?+
Probably yes if a real hailstorm came through. Hail bruising on asphalt shingles is rarely visible from the driveway — it shows as small round spots where the granules got knocked off. The bruise itself is what eventually fails. We'll climb up and check for free.
How long do I have to file a claim?+
Most Montana policies give you a year, some give you two. Don't wait. The longer you wait, the harder it is to prove the damage was from a specific storm.
Will filing a claim raise my rates?+
A weather-related claim usually doesn't affect your premium the way an at-fault claim does. Your agent can tell you specifically — that's a question for them, not for us.
Will SureRoof meet with my insurance adjuster?+
Yes. We'll be on the roof with the adjuster, show them what we found, and make sure nothing gets missed.
