Why wind rating matters more in Belgrade
Out on the valley floor there's nothing to slow the wind down. A lot of the housing stock north and west of town went up quickly during the growth years on builder-grade shingles nailed to the minimum spec. Those roofs lose ridge cap and rake shingles first. When we replace a Belgrade roof we spec a polymer-modified shingle, a six-nail pattern, and starter strip on every edge — not because it sounds good on paper but because we get called back to the roofs that didn't have it.
What's in the bid
- Full tear-off to the deck and decking replacement where it's soft
- Synthetic underlayment plus ice-and-water shield at eaves and valleys
- New flashing at every penetration — never reused
- Six-nail install pattern and starter strip on rakes and eaves
- Balanced intake and ridge ventilation
- Disposal, magnet sweep, and full cleanup
- Manufacturer material warranty plus SureRoof workmanship warranty
Material choices for Belgrade
Malarkey asphalt covers most homes here and holds up to both the UV and the wind. Standing-seam metal is a strong choice for the shops, barns, and acreage properties between Belgrade and Four Corners — it sheds snow and lasts decades. For low-slope additions we install GAF-certified TPO rather than trying to make shingles work on a pitch they were never meant for.
Timeline
Timing depends on the size and complexity of the roof and on the weather window. We're a short drive from Belgrade, and we'll give you a realistic schedule with your estimate rather than a number we can't hold.
Start with a look at the roof
You'll get photos, a plain-English condition report, and a written bid broken out line by line — the kind you can hold next to any other Belgrade or Bozeman roofer's number and actually compare. Call (406) 551-9397 or request a free estimate.
